Day 1: October 7
Fly To Italy
Depart the United States for an overnight flight to Europe and the charm of Italy. Group flights are on Delta/Air France- depart MSP at 4:35PM and arrive in Paris @7:55AM. Depart Paris @ 9:20AM and arrive in Naples at 11:35AM (October 8). Flight times are subject to change.
Day 2: October 8
Arrive In Naples
Buongiorno & Welcome to Italy! A local guide will join us before we make our way to the hotel in Sorrento (hotel check in is 4PM). Our local guide will introduce us to Sorrento during a charming walk of this quaint town. Later, Falen hosts a welcome drink at the hotel followed by a delicious Welcome Dinner at a nearby restaurant. An airport shuttle is included for guests on the group flight. If you choose 'Land Only' transfers are not included unless you arrive on the same flights as group.

Day 3: October 9
Isle of Capri
This morning, we set sail across the Gulf of Naples on a high-speed boat, heading towards the idyllic island of Capri! This island is a picturesque haven with quaint villages, breathtaking sea vistas, and an essence of genuine Italian allure. Capri was a beloved retreat for Emperor Augustus, who made it his sanctuary, constructing numerous temples, villas, and gardens, creating a personal paradise. Weather permitting, we'll explore the renowned Blue Grotto, and savor magnificent views of both Capri and the mainland during our ascent on the famous Monte Solaro Chairlift, followed by a descent via funicular. Later, we'll return to our hotel in Sorrento, with dinner at leisure. If weather is pleasant, enjoy some free time at the beach.

Day 4: October 10
Sorrento - Cooking Class & Limoncello Tasting
After a leisure morning, we'll visit a nearby fish market, where you'll engage with local vendors, interact with the chef and crafting an authentic meal. Watch and take part during a demonstration on preparing select fish for lunch. You'll also get hands-on experience in making a local delicacy, pizza fritta (akin to a calzone), and a dish featuring eggplants and anchovies, all regional favorites. This immersive experience is bound to be memorable! Afterward, spend a leisurely afternoon exploring Sorrento or relaxing at the beach. In the evening, we leave our hotel for a traditional experience in the lemon groves of Giardini di Vigliano. There, we'll taste the famous limoncello and enjoy a seated dinner surrounded by the fragrant lemon trees.

Day 5: October 11
Amalfi Coast
This morning, prepare to be enchanted by one of the world's most breathtaking coastlines, the Amalfi Coast, featuring the charming village of Positano. John Steinbeck once described this region as a surreal dream while present and a vivid memory once departed. Our journey will include the exploration of the picturesque villages of Amalfi and Positano, along with a visit to the exquisite gardens of Villa Rufulo, in the quaint village of Ravello. As we delve into the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, we'll also explore the captivating Emerald Cave, followed by a scenic private boat ride to the village of Amalfi, weather permitting, all against the backdrop of the spectacular coastline. As the early evening approaches, we will return to our hotel in Sorrento.

Day 6: October 12
Pompeii - Vesuvio Winery
A local guide takes us through a fascinating journey back to the Roman Empire when Pompeii and the Vesu- vius area were one of the most beautiful resorts in all of Italy before being destroyed by an eruption on Mt. Vesuvius. Our tour includes the highlights of Pompeii; the theatre, thermal baths, Gladiators' Gym, fountains, the Forum and much more. Later this afternoon we will visit a vineyard located on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius. Sample several local vintages before making our way into Sorrento to try their famous limoncello made from local lemons. Tonight we dine at a local restaurant in Sorrento.

Day 7: October 13
Sorrento at Leisure - Farewell Dinner
This morning, enjoy one of the most stunning coastlines anywhere, the Amalfi Coast by boat. John Steinbeck wrote that the Amalfi Coast "is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes becomingly real after you have gone." In addition to exploring the villages of Amalfi and Positano, you also have the opportunity to experience some of the local foods and wines of the area. Late afternoon finds us returning to our hotel in Sorrento. We will explore the Amalfi Coast by boat one way and return by van (depending on sea conditions)

Day 8: October 14
Arrivederci Italy!
We pack our bags and say farewell to Italy as we depart for the airport in Naples (or extend your stay in Europe). We arrive back home with fond memories of the Amalfi Coast! Group flight departs Naples at 06:15AM via Paris and arrives in MSP at 12:35PM on 14th October.
